Preparation

Cooking
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and cook the patties until they are golden brown on both sides, about 4-5 minutes each side.
In the same skillet, add sliced onions and caramelize them until they are sweet and golden, which should take around 8 minutes.
Assembly
Spread Dijon mustard on a slice of bread, add a cooked burger patty, caramelized onions, and cheese if desired.
Top with another slice of bread and grill the sandwich until the bread is toasted and the cheese melts.
