Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Glaze Ingredients

  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger powder

Garnish

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Toss the cauliflower florets in cornstarch until they are fully coated.

Cooking

  • Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  • Add the coated cauliflower to the pan, cooking until golden and crispy, about 10-15 minutes.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together the orange juice, soy sauce, maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  • Once the cauliflower is crispy, pour the orange sauce over it and toss to coat evenly.
  • Bake in the oven for another 10-15 minutes to set the glaze.

Serving

  • Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions for a pop of color.

Notes

For a thicker glaze, allow the sauce to simmer on low heat after mixing the ingredients for a few minutes before tossing it with the cauliflower. Ensure each cauliflower piece is evenly coated with cornstarch to achieve maximum crispiness.
