Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 1 pound ground chicken Fresh ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped bell peppers Any color bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped red onion Provides sweetness and crunch
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley Can substitute with cilantro if preferred
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Finely minced for best flavor
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano Herb that enhances flavor
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground is best
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs Use panko for extra crunch
  • 1 large egg Acts as a binder
  • Olive oil for frying Ensure oil is hot before frying

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, bell peppers, red onion, parsley, garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, and the egg. Mix everything until it's well combined.
  • Shape the mixture into patties that are about 2-3 inches in diameter.

Cooking

  • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook the patties for 5-7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and thoroughly cooked.

Serving

  • Serve the patties warm, whether on their own, in a wrap, or with a fresh salad.

Notes

To store any leftovers, allow the patties to cool completely before placing them in an airtight container. They can be refrigerated for up to three days. For freezing, use parchment paper between patties.
