Fold in chocolate chips or nuts now, if using.
Scoop heaping tablespoons of dough onto the prepared sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 3–5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
