  • 1 lb ground beef Use lean ground beef for healthier options.
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese.
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil For cooking the tortillas.

For serving

  • sour cream For dipping.
  • salsa For dipping.

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until it is fully cooked. Make sure to drain any excess fat afterward.
  • Stir in the taco seasoning along with a splash of water, and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until everything is thoroughly mixed.

Cooking Quesadillas

  • In another skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  • Place one tortilla in the skillet, sprinkle half of it with cheese, and add a portion of the cooked ground beef on top.
  • Fold the tortilla over and cook until it is golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the quesadilla from the skillet and repeat the process with the remaining tortillas and fillings.

Serving

  • Serve warm with sour cream and salsa for dipping.

Notes

For best results, make sure the skillet is heated sufficiently before adding the tortillas. Don’t overcrowd the skillet to ensure even cooking.
