Instructions
Preparation
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8-inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
In a food processor, combine the nuts and pulse until they are coarsely chopped.
Add the dates, dark chocolate chips, and sea salt, and pulse until the mixture sticks together.
If desired, add coconut oil, rolled oats, or vanilla extract to the mixture and pulse until combined.
Press the mixture firmly into the prepared baking dish, ensuring it is evenly distributed.
Baking
Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the edges start to brown slightly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
Once cool, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut them into squares.
Storage
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze them for longer storage.
Notes
For the best results, ensure your dates are soft and moist, soaking them if necessary. Customize with different nuts or chocolate types for variety.
