Ingredients

Chickpeas

  • 1 cup Cooked Chickpeas (or 1 can, 398ml) You can use canned for convenience.

Spices and Seasonings

  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil (or Pure Avocado Oil) Substitutes include coconut or avocado oil.
  • 1/4 tsp Chipotle Powder Additive-Free
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Onion Powder
  • Dash Cayenne Pepper (Ground) Adjust for more heat
  • 1/4 tsp Ground Turmeric
  • Dash Black Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Himalayan salt (or Other Natural Mineral Salt)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Drain and rinse the chickpeas well. Spread them on a pan to air dry or pat them dry with a clean cloth, rolling them around to remove any loose skin.
  • Place the chickpeas into a bowl, drizzle in the olive oil, and stir in the salt and spices. Mix until well-combined and evenly seasoned.

Cooking

  • Spread the seasoned chickpeas on a baking sheet without overcrowding.
  • Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, stirring halfway through. For a crunchier texture, bake for up to 40 minutes, stirring every 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Once roasted to your liking, remove from the oven and cool before handling.

Notes

Store in an airtight container for 3 to 4 days at room temperature or up to 7 days in the fridge. Re-crisp in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes at 200°F if desired.
