Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu pressed and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup coconut cream high-quality recommended
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast can be swapped for cheese
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Fresh herbs (like parsley or basil) for garnish

Instructions

Preparation

  • Press the tofu for 15-20 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into cubes.
  • In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the tofu cubes and cook until golden brown on all sides.

Cooking

  • Remove the tofu from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the diced onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent.
  • Stir in the coconut cream, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, paprika, salt, and pepper, and cook until the mixture is warm and well combined.
  • Add the crispy tofu back to the skillet and gently toss it in the sauce until coated.
  • Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

For variations, consider adding red pepper flakes for spice or swapping coconut cream for full-fat coconut milk.
