Preparation
Cut the apples into bite-size cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl. Pour the lemon juice over them and toss gently until all the pieces are coated.
In a separate bowl, whisk the mayonnaise and brown sugar until smooth and evenly combined.
Add the celery, grapes, pecans, and dried cranberries to the apples. Pour the dressing over the mixture.
Stir until the fruit and vegetables are lightly coated, using a broad spoon or rubber spatula to avoid crushing the grapes.
Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. Stir once before serving and taste for seasoning.
Notes
Serve in a chilled bowl or spoon into lettuce cups for an attractive presentation. Great as a side with roast turkey or grilled chicken. Store leftovers in an airtight container and use within 3 days.
